Seahorse Transport was fomred in 1970 by Carl R. Meyer. Mark Haynes, the current owner, worked for him from 1973 to 1976. Mark Moved to San Antonio and worked for Transport Company of Texas.
Mark returned to Seahorse in 1978 and worked for Carl until 1989 when he took a job at Sunbelt Transportation as the General Manager. At this point, Carl Meyer (owner of seahorse) was tired of trucking and tendered all of Seahorses freight to Sunbelt.
From 1989 to 1993 Mark was instrumental in the growth of Sunbelt from 17 tractors and 45 trailers to 75 tractors and over 300 trailers. Revenue increased over 5 fold.
Mark decided from this point in his career it was time to start his own business. Mark approached Carl Meyer (Seahorse Transport) about leasing office and yard space and he agreed to transfer the Seahorse permit into Mark's name.
